There is no “I” in Team
When Fort Lauderdale based Quantum Marine wanted to make a big splash at the boat shows in Monaco and Fort Lauderdale they decided on a unique sales approach for their trade booth.
Quantum is a privately held corporation that manufactures stabilizer systems for the yachting, military, and commercial markets. We are talking big ships here, minimum of 100 feet in length. Quantum is known for technological innovations in the marine industry.
Their marketing tools reflect their cutting edge products too. So when Marketing Director Katie Ross, wanted to create a WOW effect of their CEO discussing Quantum’s product line she brought in a TEAM to create a hologram greeting visitors at their trade booth.
I’m not afraid to try new things. I’m confident my training in Fine Arts, gave me a solid structure in understanding the principles of light, design etc. Visual arts is actually based on mathematics. “I” am quite comfortable working on my own; shooting producing, writing and editing. But on this project the “I” was happy to be part of the “TEAM.”
My part? Executing a Green Screen video of CEO, John Allen, introducing Quantum products. Easy in theory but the video file, shot on location, had to be technically perfect using 4K video output to achieve the best quality.
We are talking major lighting; on location. That’s where my Fine Arts training comes in. The green screen background has to be perfectly lit; even up and down side to side. And the subject requires a different lighting setup. And the two lighting setups can’t conflict. No shadow puppets allowed!
That’s where experience and training comes in. Handling something new with the confidence is why my clients rely on me. But sometimes the “I” will tell the client we need the “TEAM.” And I’m happy to be a part of it!
